Homestead Awakenings

by Robinson

I feel like I’m awaking from a long hibernation from gardening and actively pursuing improving the homestead. This weekend was an amazingly beautiful early April treat and we got a ton of stuff done. We cleaned the goat shed, the boy tilled the new and improved vegetable garden, all traces of the old failure of a garden were removed and the area was readied for the possibility of seeding a nice grazing spot for the ladies, some burdock was pulled and piled for destruction, brush piles were reduced, lettuce seeds were planted, new compost pile was started, I fixed the dryer vent so birds can’t come in for lint anymore… and there may be more that I can’t think of right now!

It feels good to be awake!
