Pretty darn cold.
You’re right. That is cold. How long was that egg outside? Are the hens keeping warm enough? How did you figure that Jack was old? That would account for his less than active border collie attitude.
I think that the egg had been there over night. It had been laid in an odd place (under the roost) and wasn’t easy to see.
Jack’s eyes are cloudy. They were a little cloudy when I got him and the vet sold me some medicine saying that he had some sort of infection but the medicine never did anything to clear them up. He might have had the infection, but it wasn’t what was making his eyes cloudy. He’s also really slow getting up and it seems like he’s getting slower. Like his back or his hips hurt, or maybe a little of both.
He just generally acts like an old dog. Definitely not the “2” the humane society claimed he was when I picked him up. But, he’d been there for a long time and I’m sure that their hearts were in the right place when they lied to me :) It’s hard to place older dogs, but I’d like to think I would have picked him anyway.
Rest assured, you would have picked him. Glad that he has a home and wonderful people to care for him.
can we backlight that thing and take a photo of it??????
or a stop action video of it???
